First, I have updated our rotu to try a more efficient process for some of the longer running tasks. I used https://github.com/leiizko/cod4x_lua_plugin/tree/master/LuaScripts/Rotu-R and we can see how that works out. Typically when we had a crash there was a suspected infinite loop during the waypoints calculations on finale... I think we have a good chance of this being our solution.

Second, Rotu right now is our most popular server... I think we should add some features to this and would appreciate any suggestions @ElementX, @Puma and anyone else who is a rotu fan speak up ...

Here are a few of my ideas....

1. Remove lousy guns from soldier, and engineer. Soldier gets that single shot gun 2nd, does not seem like an upgrade to me... Engineer gets horrible shotgun 1/2 way though. ( we should be able to do this in config )

2. Remove barrel & mg or make it more useful, wider range, longer life... what do you guys think on this ? ( we should be able to do this in config )

3. Add a stun type of weapon to freeze the zombies, ( We may need some help with modding to add a new weapon )

4. Reduce ammo for some of the special weapons ( we should be able to do this in config )

5. Add tanks to dog rounds, for every 5 dogs add 1 tank ( we should be able to do this in config )

6. Change the finale message to be more JFF specific. Got some details from the developers, but not real sure if accurate or we can do.
From 3aGl3: If you just want to change the wording, there is the english/localizedstrings/ folder. It contains "all" the text used in the mod. Please note, that not actually all phrases are in there yet, as the original Rotu mod did not use the localization system very much

7. New Item - Gift Money... that is a nice feature on some of the other servers, also think people who signed up on the forum should be rewarded with some extra feature.

8. New Item - Somebody suggested be able to pay money to extend your turrets.... This might be a neat idea considering not so easy to buy and place on some maps.

If anybody has any suggestions, add them here so we can consider them. If anybody thinks they can help with adding new weapons let me know. I am comfortable with the scripts but not so sure about the graphic part of it.

Keep the ideas coming, I am going to make a list and start going after them... Is anybody here sharp with compiling code ? I am thinking we should change this value on our rotu and recompile... It's in cod4x and if something still running after 6s waits then does a map rotate... Opinions may vary but I think this is where we are having our crashes. So we have option to try and speed up, or other option to maybe make this 10s and see if that stops the problem.

Saw that they stuck in spawn..alot
And spawn on different places,not like before

For me, the main thing i'd love to see if some new playable maps and weapons. I must have played every map 100 times and the only one that is really a challenge is trap.

2. The barrel; mg i've never really used cos it overheats too fast when i just wanna spam :)

3. yes.

4. I wouldn't reduce ammo at all.

5. Would we be able to lose the dogs altogether and just put in a wave of tanks? Obviously with less amount of zombs than normal.

We need to edit: shop.cfg & upgradables.gsc ( or edit upgradables.gsc so this script can't have impact to shop.cfg )

It can be done or remove...

Remember thundergun weapon from ROTU 2.2.2 ?

Not available in configs, but easily can be done modifying weapons files in weapons.iwi...

Yes we can do that, or simply remove normal dogs wave from rotu.cfg.

We need source files for rotu 0.7 to do that...

I Don't know about that, isn't that complicated ?

Can be done, but that will ruin engineer's special ability.

I currently zombifying about 101 maps ( doing tradespawns, waypoints ), work is in progress. 60% maps are done, testing is underway...

This is a demo from actual gameplay and you can view this demo in your CoD4:

a) Right click on file demo0000.dm_1 > open with > iw3mp.exe,

b) Enter /demo DEMONAME into the console.

any time i try and open this demo i get the error message: weapon index mismatch for 'raygun_mp'

any ideas?

Tool for easy playing demos of game Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

You can use slowmotion, faster playing, freezing demo, toggle third person view, toggle view HUD info and some keys for cheathunters.

Installation and run:
1. Download file cod4player.zip (227 kB, cod4player.exe + readme.txt).
2. Just unzip file "cod4player.exe", but rather don't put it into the COD4 folder. Then simply run it.

Controls:
* In main screen click on the keybord to show info about controls.
* You can set association demos in Setup menu and then just click on demofile to playback.

Restrictions:
- If You have CoD4 just as copy on HD (no info in registry), cod4player ask You for path to iw3mp.exe.
- Windows Vista: When get this error "Permission denied", run cod4player as Administrator (right mouse on cod4player ad select from menu Run as..)

But, first... When you start cod4player go to setup and under Mod name: +set fs_game mods/ type rotu-r-alpha or in case of error ModWarfare

Then, put demo file to cod4 main folder > start cod4player > click on open demo button, chose demo file...

I hope this will work :)

With this script _upgradables.gsc you can easily change weapons order in classes via shop.cfg. There is no need to define weapon upgrade in _upgradables.gsc. This is working in my mod I dont tested it in rotu-r-alpha...

server got restart on secret base map,but for nothing.just one dm and and players and we got kick from server...

We are now running a custom compile of cod4x for our rotu server.

If anybody is interested, I changed the infinite loop detection from 6s to 10s and compiled. I think this may allow the mod to survive the finale. Let me know what you experience please... and if anybody is around hit me up on discord and we can try and have 4 or 5 guys with dm blazing :)
